It really is astounding to me, having been in the network marketing business for a number of years now, just how many people simply do not succeed.
Should I be surprised though? Is it really such a huge surprise that so many people fail? Considering the fact that most people get involved on the back of wild claims about massive earnings, and often times no mention of that little thing called ‘hard work,’ that it takes to achieve the big bucks. There are far too many folks, desperate to pull people into their network marketing business, any which way. With complete disregard for the truth, not to mention the detrimental effect that it has on our industry.
However, does it really need to be that way?
What if we could flip it on it’s head and we had a 95% success rate, imagine that!?! Imagine, if 95% of the people that joined your network marketing business…..succeeded! How cool would that be!?!
Is it really that difficult though? Surely it’s just about doing the right things with the right people, right? Sounds simple enough. Here’s a couple of things to get the ball rolling…
Surefire ways to turn the tide on your network marketing business:
1) Don’t feed them a bunch of bull to begin with!
Tell them the truth! How’s that for a novel concept. Tell them that the sky really is the limit, if they’re willing to work their ass off for it! That there’s no magic formula (apart from hard work), money isn’t going to fall from the sky or start to sprout from the tree at the bottom of their garden! And guess what…..it isn’t a get rich quick scheme either! If they want one o’ those, tell ‘em to go play the lotto!
Ok, so you will loose all the ‘lazy’ folks, who might have joined your network marketing business if you’d led them to believe it was going to be a walk in the park. But here’s the deal…you’re better off without them anyway! You would only drive yourself crazy, trying to get them off the couch and away from the TV!
We’ve eliminated a bunch o’ folks before we even started. We must be at around a 55% success rate already!
2) Get them to build the ‘right’ kinda list
Not the one that’s full of family and friends!
This is something that still blows my mind to this day…..considering it’s 2011 and we’re in the information age. Well, at least we were the last time I checked! You are reading this via that new-fangled thing called the internet, right?
Why is it that virtually every company and their ‘leaders’ continue to spout the same old, same old crap, that leads to every new recruit heading off to badger their friends and family?
On the one hand we’re told to ‘treat it like a business, and it’ll pay you like a business.’ And then on the other we’re told to go away and come up with our ‘warm market’ list of 200 people! ‘Of course you know 200 people, here’s our memory jogger just in case!’ Sound familiar?!?
What the heck kind of a business are we building, if our business model revolves around pestering our family and friends? Yes, I know I Know, we’re supposed to sort, not sell! There’s no pestering/hassling involved, right? Sure thing! It never happens that way does it!?!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying don’t approach your family and friends, but don’t base your network marketing business plan around it!
How about a different kind of list, that involves a splash of technology (scary stuff!), and will become a valuable asset to your business? You should probably click on the link below if your sponsor hasn’t told you about a different kind of list. Don’t get upset though, he/she probably doesn’t know about it either. Probably because their sponsor never told them, and their sponsor’s sponsor never told them either…..maybe because your sponsor’s, sponsor’s, sponsor, started out in the industry 30 years ago, and the internet didn’t exist!
Most people would love to know how to build a list that becomes the most valuable asset of their network marketing business, behind their mind & time itself of course. As opposed to a list that is just filled with the names of the people they know…..99% of which are quite happy with their safe, comfortable lives, thank you very much!
Awesome! Now we’re at about a 70% success rate. Onwards & upwards!
