This past weekend Bradley Wiggins created sporting history.
However, what really transpired was considerably more powerful than Bradley Wiggins becoming the first ever Englishman to win the Tour de France, in ninety nine editions of the race spanning over a Century.
What happened to Bradley Wiggins, started with a dream…
however it wasn’t his dream.
It was the dream of the guy who masterminded the whole thing…
However, what we’re talking about here transcends cycling…
and indeed sport in general…
What happened in France over the previous three weeks was a master class in how to succeed at anything…
indeed, how to win in life.
It was the dream and vision of the principle of Team Sky (Bradley Wiggins’ pro cycling team), Dave Brailsford.
You see, Brailsford made a decision around four years ago.
He made a decision which he then made public…
that he was going to form a British professional cycling team…
and from within that team a British rider was going to win the Tour de France…
in the next five years.
They did it in three!
People within the cycling world scoffed at Brailsford’s bold proclamation.
He didn’t care…
he had a vision of what he wanted to achieve…
and he set about making it a reality.

Bradley Wiggins winning the Tour de France in 2012 was remarkable in itself…
just three years following the inception of Team Sky…
however Dave Brailsford’s achievements go way beyond even that…
If you’ve been paying attention during the last two Olympic Games (this is being written just before the London Games), particularly if you’re British or a Cycling fan, or both…
you will have been aware of the rise in prominence of the British cycling team.
Rise in prominence is probably something of an understatement…
as in Beijing during the 2008 Olympic Games…
the British cycling team didn’t just do well…
they obliterated the opposition!
The British Cycling team won 14 medals in all…8 Gold.
A haul which would have placed them in the top ten of competing countries!
Bradley Wiggins won two gold’s…
one of which was in the team pursuit event, where he and his three team mates didn’t just win…
they set a new world record in the process…

Bradley Wiggins has now won three Olympic Gold’s, which could well turn into four in the next couple of weeks…
as the Olympic games are about to start in London, his hometown.
This piece isn’t just about Bradley Wiggins, however…
This is about one man’s vision…
and the forming of a Mastermind Alliance.
This goes back to principles of success outlined a hundred years ago by Napolean Hill.
You see, Dave Brailsford is a student of success.
He knew that in order to make his vision of seeing a British winner of the Tour de France, from a British team…
become a reality…
he couldn’t do it alone.
He knew that he had to surround himself with a team of people who’s collective skills, knowledge and innate ability…
fuelled by his own belief and determination…
his own burning desire…
could, nay…would make it happen.
He brought together his Mastermind Alliance, and they then set about taking apart and reconstructing what it would take to produce the most successful cycling team on the planet.
“It means taking the 1% from everything you do; finding a 1% margin for improvement in everything you do…that’s what we try to do from the mechanics upwards.”
Dave Brailsford.
It all started with one mans vision…
his vision of what he believed was possible…
what he believed he and his team were capable of making happen.
This is why projectTHRIVE exists…
because I have a vision of just how astounding my life can be…
because I have an absolute burning desire to live my best life…
and to inspire others to do the same…
maybe even yourself [click here to see].
This is why the Thriving Adventures ‘inner circle’ exists…
to bring together a Mastermind of people who are passionate about life...
passionate about grabbing life by the scruff of the neck…
and owning it!
Are you taking action to own your Life?
This is the same for anyone…
imagine if Dave Brailsford hadn’t taken action on the vision of what he believed was possible…
would Bradley Wiggins ever have achieved Olympic gold or Tour de France glory?
